The African Union Commissioner for Political Affairs, Peace and
Security, Amb. Bankole Adeoye recently held consultations with
the President of the Pan-African Parliament (PAP), H. E. Hon. Chief
Fortune Charumbira during a visit to the seat of the Parliament in
Midrand, South Africa.
Amb. Adeoye used the occasion of the
visit to congratulate Chief Charumbira on his recent
re-election into the Senate of Zimbabwe.
The two leaders discussed the political situation in Africa
especially the increase in unconstitutional changes of governments particularly
the recent coup in Niger Republic and considered parliamentary advocacy as a
means of finding lasting peace and stability to prevent further
unconstitutional changes in government.
