The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) 2019 Election Review Committee led by the Bauchi State Governor, Bala Mohammed, has held separate consultative meetings with former presidents Olusegun Obasanjo, Goodluck Jonathan and Ibrahim Badamosi Babaginda (IBB) and former Senate President Senator David Mark on Sunday.
The committee was set up to see how the PDP can maximize the gains
it has made in recent elections including Bayelsa and Edo states.
Other members of the committe include former Jigawa State
governor, Sule Lamido and his Niger State counterpart, Babangida Aliyu, former
Minister of Special Duties and Chairman
of the PDP Ministers’ Forum.
Confirming the meetings, Governor Mohammed, in a series of tweets
on his verified Twitter handle on Sunday said, “Today, I led a delegation of
@officialPDPNig2019 General Election Review on an advocacy visit to meet with
former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, GCFR.”
According to him, “the visit to former President Olusegun
Obasanjo, GCFR is to intimate him on the activities of the committee and to
seek his input and suggestions towards achieving our collective goal.”
Governor Mohammed stated that the Committee was set up to review
where the faltered in 2019 and also seek the counsel of the former leaders on
how best to reposition and restore the party to its lost glory.
He also disclosed that the party is working to galvanize the
founding fathers of the party towards the promotion of good governance in the
nation.
