Nigeria should take seriously US alert of Al-Qaeda invasion – Shehu Sani

 

A former Kaduna lawmaker Senator Shehu Sani, has urged the Nigerian government to take seriously the alert by the United States of infiltration by the Al-Qaeda terrorist group into the country.

The press had reported no Wednesday reported that the Nigerian authorities have been alerted by the US that the Al-Qaeda terrorist group and ISIS have started penetrating the country.

The Commander of the U.S. Special Operations Command, Africa, Dagvin Anderson, made this known during a press briefing, adding that they are also expanding to other parts of West Africa.

Reacting to the alert on Thursday on his Twitter page, Senator Sani, said the US needs to sincerely support Nigeria to end the terrorist activities in the country.

He wrote: “The US intelligence report on the infiltration of the Northwest by terror groups is appreciated and should be taken seriously.

“But the most important thing is wholeheartedly and sincerely supporting us to end their atrocious and cruel activities in our lands.”
