2019: Buhari’s second term bid was being spurred by ‘petty jealousy’. – LP presidential aspirant

President Muhammadu Buhari’
A presidential aspirant on the platform of the Labour Party, LP, Mr. Placid Abuchi Emmanuel, has said that President Muhammadu Buhari’s second term bid was being spurred by ‘petty jealousy’.
The aspirant, who spoke to journalists to announce his entry into the race after purchasing the party’s nomination and expression of interest forms, said it was still a shock to Buhari that a southerner and a fellow Army General could achieve the feat of leading the country for two terms.

He said, “I can tell you that Buhari meant to do just one term as he had announced, but now he is being propelled by petty jealousy that Obasanjo, a Southerner could get a second term, that is the reason he is vying for a second term.”
He urged Nigerians to reject Buhari, saying that the president has displayed glaring inability to lead the country, while saying that he was the right man for the position.

“I am not in the race because I am ambitious; I’m in the race because of passion.

“I have not come to match Buhari. I have simply come to fulfil my desire to make things work in my fatherland. Nigerians know who ruined their country, and I believe they will vote out that person.
Emmanuel, an Onitsha based international businessman further stated that God brought Buhari to power as an answered prayers.

“We were always praying for God to expose those who were behind the numerous killings in the country, and I can tell you that the prayer is already answered. Nigerians I guess do not need to ask who is responsible.

“We are here to work out things for Nigeria. I am here to fulfil the vision given to me about how to make our country work. The passion is about my fatherland and the vision is to make things work.”
