Obong Victor Attah |
A former Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Victor Attah, said that the
defection of his successor, Senator Godswill Akpabio, has damaged the
All Progressives Congress, APC.
Attah stated this at a press briefing in Lagos on Thursday.
Recall that the former Senate Minority Leader, Akpabio, defected from the People Democratic Party, PDP, to the APC recently.
Akpabio was welcomed to the ruling party at a rally organised for him by the Akwa Ibom State chapter of the APC.
This was after he resigned as the Senate Minority Leader.
Attah said “the defection of Akpabio has reversed the prospect of the
All Progressives Congress winning the next governorship election in the
state.”
The former Governor further warned that Nigeria must be “restructured or die.”
