President
of the Pan-African Parliament, H.E.
Chief Fortune Charumbira on Saturday arrived Boumediene International
Airport in Algiers, Democratic Republic of Algeria for the 17th Session of the
conference of the Parliamentary Union of member countries of the Organization of
Islamic Cooperation (UP-OIC). He was received on arrival by H.E. Sen. Saleh Goujel, Speaker of the Algeria
National Assembly.
Sen. Saleh Goujel was accompanied by Hon. Abdel Nasser Hammoud, Vice
President of the National Assembly, Hon.
Cheikh Wahid, Vice President of the National People's Assembly, and Hon. Omar Dadi Adoun, Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Affairs,
International Cooperation and the Algerian Community Abroad.
Also
at the airport to receive H. E. Chief
Charumbira were members of the Algerian delegation to the Pan-African
Parliament led by Hon. Ezz El-Din
Abdel-Majid, Chairperson of the PAP North Africa Caucus, and Hon. Abdel-Malik Tasheraft. Other
members included Hon. Fatih Boutbiq, who is also Head of the
Parliamentary Group of the Future Front, Hon.
Bahja Worker, Chairperson of the PAP
Permanent Committee on Transport, Industry, Communications, Energy, Science and
Technology and Hon. Mohamed Socras.
Organized
by the Algerian Parliament, H. E. Chief
Charumbira will on Sunday, deliver keynote address at the conference which is
held under the theme “Islamic World: Challenges of Modernization and
Development”, with the participation of several parliaments of OIC member
countries.
H. E. Chief Charumbira is expected to take
part, as Guest of Honour.
