OrderPaper Hosts ‘Evening Of Sparkles’ To Spotlight Performing Legislators In The 9th National Assembly

ABUJA- OrderPaper Nigeria, the country’s premier and independent multi-platform parliament-focused organisation is hosting an ‘Evening of Sparkles’ to recognize performing legislators in the 9th National Assembly.

The event, which is scheduled to hold on Thursday, 14th July 2022 at the Transcorp Hotel, Abuja is the second of steps in the Most Valuable Parliamentarians (MVPs) Hall of Fame designed by OrderPaper Nigeria and implemented alongside a cluster of renowned Civil Society Partners.

The ‘Evening of Sparkles’ will spotlight 40 nominees out of the 469-member National Assembly, shortlisted for possible induction into the MVP Hall of Fame.

Speaking on preparations for the event, Executive Director of OrderPaper Nigeria, Oke Epia, described the MVPs Hall of Fame as an elite and invitation-only framework to applaud and encourage exemplary legislative performances while engendering a community of healthy and productive partnerships between the Legislature, Civil Society, and the Citizenry in Nigeria.

“The eventual MVPs are a distinct class of legislators who are performance-driven, excellence-inspired, and public-spirited and carefully chosen by an objective, painstaking, and data-driven appraisal process.

These efforts are part of our modest contributions to legislative strengthening and promoting improved service delivery by the National Assembly of Nigeria.”

Since 2015, OrderPaper Nigeria continues to stand out as a recognized and respectable niche organisation reporting, tracking, and archiving activities of the legislature.

Using several objective evaluation criteria and standard metrics, it has published over 120 (and still counting) specially curated, data-driven NASS Midterm Reports on its website which have been copiously amplified by mainstream (and social) media. With global recognition of its work by renowned organisations  (including the Inter Parliamentary Union (IPU)) and the media, therefore, the organization has matured to become the country’s preeminent policy think-tank and legislative interface organization bridging the gap between people and parliament.
