The
leaders of the Southern Regional Caucus in the Pan-African Parliament (PAP) have concluded a three-day strategic
meeting in Harare, Zimbabwe.
The
meeting which kicked off on Tuesday consisted of the leaders of the Southern Region’s country delegations to the Pan-African Parliament.
The meeting
was convened to brainstorm on strategies to ensure that the region’s candidate Hon. Chief Fortune Charumbira wins the
election for the next president of the Parliament, scheduled to take place on
June 30, 2022.
While
in Harare, the leaders paid a courtesy call on the Speaker of the Parliament of
Zimbabwe, Hon. Adv. Jacob Mudenda on
Wednesday.
In
attendance at the meetings were: Hon.
Pemmy Majodina (South Africa); Hon.
Amos Masondo (South Africa); Hon.
Loide Kasingo (Namibia); Hon.
McHenry Venaani (Namibia); Hon.
Simon Moabi (Botswana); Hon. Steven
Mikaya (Malawi); Hon. Nthathi Lydia
Bereng (Lesotho); Hon. Robert
Magongo (Eswatini); Hon. Aires
Baptista Bonifacio Ali (Mozambique); Hon.
Miles Sampa (Zambia); Hon. Victoria
Kingston (Malawi); Hon. Chief
Fortune Charumbira (Zimbabwe) and Hon.
Pupurai Togarep (Zimbabwe).
