The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and the United Nations African
Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) have formally
sealed a working partnership, through the signing of a Memorandum of
Understanding (MoU) on the margins of the PAP Committee Sittings last
week.
The MoU aims to establish a general framework of
cooperation for PAP and IDEP on projects, studies and events of mutual
interest, especially capacity building for members of the PAP in support of the implementation of Agenda 2063.
The signing of the MoU was officiated by Hon. Stephen Julius MASELE,
First-Vice President of the PAP and Ms. Karima SOLTANE, Director of
IDEP. Present at the signing ceremony was also Yusupha JOBE, Acting
Clerk of the PAP, who will be responsible for ensuring the
implementation of the MoU from a PAP perspective.
