Pan-African Parliament and the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning seal working partnership

The Pan-African Parliament (PAP) and the United Nations African Institute for Economic Development and Planning (IDEP) have formally sealed a working partnership, through the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on the margins of the PAP Committee Sittings last week.

The MoU aims to establish a general framework of cooperation for PAP and IDEP on projects, studies and events of mutual interest, especially capacity building for members of the PAP in support of the implementation of Agenda 2063.

The signing of the MoU was officiated by Hon. Stephen Julius MASELE, First-Vice President of the PAP and Ms. Karima SOLTANE, Director of IDEP. Present at the signing ceremony was also Yusupha JOBE, Acting Clerk of the PAP, who will be responsible for ensuring the implementation of the MoU from a PAP perspective.

IDEP is a pan-African institution created by the General Assembly of the United Nations with the primary purpose of accompanying and supporting African countries in their quest to build their human resource capacities as a necessary prerequisite for promoting socio-economic development.
