Shehu Sani |
Shehu Sani, the Senator representing Kaduna Central has reacted to
reports of Senator Dino Melaye being among lawmakers that ‘booed’
president Muhammadu Buhari at the National Assembly during the 2019
budget presentation.
Recall that lawmakers booed President Muhammadu Buhari, during the
2019 budget presentation before a joint session of the National Assembly
on December 19, 2018.
However, the Senator representing Kogi West Senatorial District, Dino
Melaye, on Saturday denied being part of the lawmakers that booed
Buhari.
Melaye claimed he was absent at the House of Representatives chamber, venue of the budget presentation on that day.
Since the incident, there have been reports in the social media that the booing was led by the Kogi Senator.
Speaking on the development, Sani supported Melaye’s claim, saying
the Senator was not present at NASS on the day Buhari was booed.
In a post on his Twitter page, the Kaduna lawmaker wrote: ”Dino was not
present on the day the President presented the budget to the Joint
parliamentary session.”
