The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria, Kogi State chapter has directed
its members to embark on an indefinite strike action over unpaid six
months salaries by the state government.
In a notice signed by the Secreratary of the judicial staff, Comrade
Sule Subaru on Monday night, the union
said after its emergency meetings resolved to shut down the courts
indefinitely with effect from Tuesday, December 11, 2018.
According to him, this is as a result of the inability of the staff to transport themselves to their offices.
The notice read partly, “The Exco commends members for their
endurance and faith in the union despite untold hardship inflicted on
them by the non payment of salary by the state Government.
“The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria Kogi State chapter frowns at
the insensitivity of the state Government towards the Judiciary by not
releasing our monthly subvention.
“This notice thereby directs all staff to sit at home as from tomorrow, the 11th day of December, 2018.
“Consequently all staff are enjoined to give maximum cooperation to this directive.”
