Governor Rochas Okorocha |
The Social Democratic Party (SDP), Wednesday, lambasted Governor Rochas
Okorocha-led administration in Imo State over his alleged abysmal
failure and deliberate policy of foisting hardship on the people of the
state.
The party declared that it had found Okorocha wanting for allegedly
mismanaging and looting of local government council allocations for
seven years.
This was contained in a statement signed by the Publicity secretary
of SDP in Imo, Godsent Chillos on Wednesday
evening.
The statement quoted SDP as accusing Governor Okorocha of deliberate conversion of public lands to personal use.
The statement reads, “Noting the abysmal and colossal failure of the
APC government in Imo State and its deliberate policy of imposition of
poverty and hardship on the toiling masses, the Social Democratic Party
(SDP) Imo state, therefore, has resolved to take the bull by the horn to
lead the people of Imo out of the APC captivity come 2019.
“The Social Democratic Party (SDP) Imo State, therefore, has found
the APC led government of Imo State wanting on the followings: Reckless
mismanagement and looting of local government council allocations for
seven years.
“Illegal and reckless demolition of public markets and the people’s
properties without adequate compensation or adherence to due process and
respect to rule of law.
“Conversion of public lands to personal uses: eg. Orji Mechanic and
Nekede Mechanic villages, Eke Ukwu market site, Owerrri New market site,
IBC quarters at Orji, Area H along Port Harcourt road etc.
“Our hearts are together with all the people whose loved ones and
friends have died as a result of the untold hardship the APC led
government of Imo State has caused Ndi Imo and those whose shops and
houses were wantonly destroyed by APC led government. SDP therefore
pledge to rebuild Imo State to modern state within twelve months if
elected to power in 2019.”
“We therefore call on the good people and residents of Imo State to
join SDP in their numbers as SDP is the only credible alternative for
the people of Imo State in 2019 general elections. Together we can put
to an end this impunity, evil and sadistic cabal that has held Imo State
captivity for over seven years,” it added.
