Senator Abdulaziz Nyako |
The Senator representing Adamawa Central at the National Assembly,
Abdulaziz Nyako, has confirmed a possible mass defection of federal
lawmakers from the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC, to other
political parties in few days.
The Adamawa-born politician also said that the APC has succeeded in
dumping former Governor of Edo State, Comrade Adams Oshiomhole by making
him the National Chairman of a party that had already been destroyed.
Nyako said this while fielding questions from Punch, where he also revealed that a few governors will also leave the party.
The lawmaker said, “Yes, many of us, there are many senators and many
members of the House of Representatives, a few governors in the same
position.
“All of them have grudges against the APC, and you will see defection in a matter of weeks.”
Senator Nyako had earlier dumped the ruling party for the African Democratic Congress, ADC.
Speaking on Oshiomhole, he said, “No, I’m not in a position to undermine
Adams Oshiomhole in any way. I have a lot of respect for him.”
