Yoruba Council of Elders (YCE) has announced the emergence Dansaaki
Samuel Agbede, a retired colonel and Chartered Quantity Surveyor, as the
Interim President General.
This was contained in a statement yesterday by the Public Relations Officer, Chief R.K.O. Adebule.
It explained that YCE agreed on Agbede at its quarterly meeting on June 27, 2018.
Agbede was elected after Prof. Joseph Oluwasanmi, the first plastic surgeon in Nigeria, stepped down from the position.
Speaking on Agbede, Adebule, said “He has had notable achievements in
the academic, professional, civil, military and consultancy endeavours
in Nigeria.
“It is hoped that he will carry on and improve all the good works the
former Presidents General left behind,” the spokesman added.
However, YCE lamented the death of two of its members – Chief Idowu
Shofola, SAN, (the third President General) and Prof. Lola Adekunle –
within one month.
The body hailed Shofola for his efforts in the procurement of its
present headquarters and Adekunle for her financial and other
contributions.
