A
former representative of Mbaitoli State Constituency at the state legislature,
Hon. Eugene Onyeji (Vila Pharm) and other notable leaders across party lines,
have commended the member representing Mbaitoli State Constituency at the Imo State
House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Okey Onyekanma for giving practical meaning to
effective representation.
The
leaders who spoke during Onyekanma's constituency briefing said that the
youthful legislator is doing well.
This
is even as thousands of people from Mbaitoli Local Government Area of Imo state
on Wednesday, passed a vote of implicit confidence on Rt. Hon. Okey Onyekanma,
who represents the constituency at the state parliament.
Onyekanma's
constituents, during a constituency briefing at Eziome, Mbieri in Mbaitoli LGA,
said that the legislator had done " very well, hence, deserved a second
term."
While
presenting his scorecard titled, THIRD WAVE OF ACHIEVEMENTS FOR MBAITOLI STATE
CONSTITUENCY IN THE 2021 LEGISLATIVE YEAR," the Mbaitoli representative
said that the essence of constituency briefing is to report back to the people
- the challenges and accomplishments. He explained that the scorecard was a
status update of his stewardship as a lawmaker.
"I
want to use this opportunity to renew to you, my dear constituents, my vow to
keep on justifying the confidence you reposed on me as your representative,
despite political victimizations," the lawmaker said.
Moving
the motion for vote of confidence which was unanimously endorsed, Hon. Emma
Meziem, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress and the director general
of Akarachi Foundation, who hails from Ogbaku, said that Onyekanma had
redefined effective and quality representation in the area.
Meziem
explained that the Mbaitoli people were proud of him.
Supporting
the motion, Pharm. Canice Nwosu, the DG of Imo PDP Support and Volunteer
Groups, who hails from Umunoha/Azara ward and a former lawmaker, Hon. Eugene
Onyeji, from Ubomiri ward, said Onyekanma has performed brilliantly well.
It
is with great pleasure, therefore, that I second this motion for vote of
confidence on the performing legislator," Nwosu ascertained.
