Huawei donates medical supplies to the African Union Commission for COVID-19 Emergency Response


Huawei Technologies, represented by its CEO of Ethiopia Office has donated 10,000 surgical masks to the African Union Commission to support its response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Dr. Kilenga Naftal, Ag. Director of the African Union Medical and Health Services thanked Mr. Zhou Tianbing, and its Director of Public Affairs and Communication of Northern Africa, Mr Wang Xinwei, who handed over the materials at the headquarters of the African Union on 12th May 2020. “We appreciate the quick response of Huawei as a reliable partner of the African Union at this difficult period, we can truly understand that a friend in need is a friend indeed”, said Dr. Naftal.
“More technical equipment for fighting against the COVID-19 is about to come soon and we will never stop helping our African brothers by using the latest ICT technology as a strategic partner to the African Union”, said the CEO of Huawei Mr. Tianbing.
The COVID-19 outbreak continues to spread rapidly across the world, claiming hundreds of thousands of lives in just about five months. It has caused over 280,000 deaths worldwide, and over 2,000 in Africa.
