Social media alone won’t deliver Atiku – Support groups charged

A support group for PDP Presidential Candidate Atiku Abubakar, Good Friends Network for Atiku has challenged all support groups to mobilise to the grassroots rather than focusing on social media alone.
Mr Nwafor Chigbo, the convener of the group gave the charge when the group visited Hajiya Titi Abubakar, wife of the PDP Presidential Candidate.
Mr Chigbo said that although the campaigns and support on social media was resounding and impressive, the main election would not take place on the social media and Atiku would not win on social media.
He therefore charged all those who claim to be supporting Atiku to go and mobilise the grassroots to prepare to vote him in the coming elections.
“Our campaign strategy is dominant with the capturing of the informal sector and the grassroots. We have in the course of our campaign mobilisation reached out to the unions of butchers the okada union,
“We are scheduled to meet with the mechanics and other artisan.
“It is also part of our strategies to be consistent in evangelizing Atiku to all potential voters. We don’t believe in propaganda, we re focused on issues and saying it as it is.
“Nigeria cannot afford another four years under APC due to the current hardship,” he said.
In her response, Hajiya Titi Abubakar thanked the group for the visit and encouraged them to continue with the good work they were doing for Atiku and for Nigeria.
“I have listened to your speech carefully and i am convinced that grassroots mobilisation is the best way to go,” she said. (NAN)
